Meet the Crew
We are a diverse bunch. Some neurodiverse. Some Queer.
Some nonbinary. Some immigrants. Some Travellers.
Between us, we have a few hundred years of experience in permaculture, people care, teaching, event management, and having a LOT of fun!
Tammi Dallaston
Lead Co-ordinator, Company Chair & Director

Tammi spends much of her time creating systems that result in permaculture areas at events and festivals, providing educational opportunities to learn permaculture design techniques in and around Bristol, the South West and Wales, and supporting permaculture students with their next steps.
The rest of the time, she supports her three adult children, manages a community meal project in Machynlleth, is a director of Machynlleth’s Hwb Cymunedol Taj Mahal Community Hub, on the board of trustees at the Permaculture Association, and is on the advisory board at Eginiad.
She is also a raging plant nerd!

Finder of ways, problem solver, wearer of mustard, compact and bijou.
Josie organises the site/ frontage at the Green Gathering, infrastructure booking, and Tammi’s storage solutions. Most of what she does is essentially glorified Tetris. She’d make a banging dry stone waller.
Outside of Field Families, she spends time supporting local community and sustainability projects, exploring hyper-local resilience opportunities, and raising her children and grandchildren.
She is also one of the handful of people in the country who genuinely love bagpipes!

Karen Buckland
Catering Manager, and Company Director

With over fifteen years experience in the catering industry in restaurants, wholesale and events, Karen is passionate about creating incredible dishes from earth-kind ingredients. She brings plant-based, ahimsa food which nourishes the body, feeds the soul and is gentle on the planet.

Karen also runs rewilding Ayurvedic retreats at Hardwick Estate in South Oxfordshire as part of Sadhama.
Lady Catherine Palgrave
Programme organiser extraordinaire for Green Gathering

Cath oversees the workshops snd talks at the Green Gathering Permaculture Area. This involves an awful lot of admin and putting timetables together to showcase amazing permaculture practices in the UK.
She also works at other festivals- mainly doing rubbish (well, recycling) jobs, and is a freelance bike mechanic that loves teaching others how to care for their bikes. She is a director of Highbury Orchard Community CIC where she runs Forest School and children's gardening and volunteer sessions showing that we can have beautiful green spaces in a built-up urban environment.
Anansie 'Spider' Wood
Jack of all trades and all round helper outer. Coordinator in training.

Anansie, also known as Spider, is a nonbinary powerhouse of general knowledge with a special interest in neurodivergence, disability, and LGBTQIA+ activism.
Currently studying on the Bristol Shift Course (PSC), but with a background in art and design, they bring creativity to the table and love problem solving. Whether it's how to put together a bench or helping out individuals with their personal needs - Anansie is there for you (and has an opinion on everything!).

Outside of the fields, they can be found in their studio sewing up a storm, at a burlesque dance class, or prancing about in the Bristol queer nightlife scene - usually in an incredible handmade outfit!
Doug Lane
Build and Break Coordinator for the permaculture area at Green Gathering, and Company Director

Doug oversees the amazing team that puts up all the structures and infrastructure that make up the permaculture area and keeps it running smoothly.

The rest of the time, he creates landscapes for nature, making and maintaining wildflower meadows, planting and managing woodlands and hedges, and rewilding wherever possible!
Sassan Panahinejad
Onsite co-ordinator at the Permaculture Gardens, Glastonbury, and Company Director

Sassan (right) is an integral member of our Glastonbury team, he joined the Permaculture Area for a free ticket 11 years ago and (despite his best attempts) has not been able to leave since!

Whilst on-site you can often find him fixing a myriad of things, from large structures to the lighter on his work belt.

During the off-season, Sassan is a boater and lives on the canals between Bath and Bristol. He also makes wonderful elderflower champagne!
Steve 'Chumley' Warner
Resident tree surgeon, build and break crew at Glastonbury and Green Gathering, and Company Director

Chumley works with the skilled team responsible for constructing and maintaining the structures and infrastructure that keep the permaculture area operating seamlessly.

He is also known for his chainsaw skills, which play a crucial role in tackling various outdoor projects. Chumley can often be found halfway up a tree, and despite being a man of few words, you will often hear him (or rather his chainsaw) before you see him!
Outside of work, Chumley spends his time with his partner, raising their small family.
